What I will Fight For

Christian is a fighter running for Congress to take on Trump, hold him accountable, defend our democracy, and tackle Washington’s corruption.

But let’s be clear: stopping Trump is just the beginning. This moment demands more. It demands fighters who will fight for:

Taking on Trump

  • Impeach Trump

  • Impeach corrupt cabinet officials

  • Prosecute the Epstein Class 

  • Ban congressional stock trading

  • Ban former members of congress from becoming lobbyists

  • Fight back against efforts to steal elections and suppress the vote

  • Protect free, fair, and accessible voting for every American

  • Ban corporate PAC money

Fighting for Opportunity

  • Build 4 million new homes nationally and 60,000 in New Hampshire
  • Invest in home construction through a National Infrastructure Bank
  • Reduce unnecessary costs by reducing burdensome regulations and zoning
  • Grants for first-time buyers
  • Health care is a human right
  • Immediately support Medicare as a public option
  • Support legislation that moves toward universal coverage, including Medicare for All
  • Oppose any effort to reduce Social Security benefits, cut Medicare and Medicaid, or upend legitimate access to these programs through staff cuts, office closures or increasing the administrative burden on legitimate applicants
  • Protect the right to organize
  • Raise federal minimum wage to a living wage and index to inflation
  • Crack down on employers who fail to pay minimum wage, overtime, or cheat on benefit plan contributions
  • Eliminate tuition and fees at public two-year colleges and trade schools
  • Provide tax credits against student loans for qualifying college and trade school tuitions
  • Crackdown on predatory schools and lenders
  • Recognize childcare as essential infrastructure for economic security and gender equity
  • Childcare and early learning should be affordable or free for all families
  • Increase federal funding for Head Start and Early Head Start programs
  • Raise wages and improve benefits for childcare workers

  • Tax the billionaires with a wealth tax. 

  • Break up monopolies in tech and news. 

  • Stop billionaires from buying elections.

Preserving Our Freedom

  • Codify Roe v. Wade into federal law
  • Protect reproductive health clinics
  • Support paid family and medical leave for all
  • Reinforce the power of courts and ensure that no official, including the president, can ignore the law without consequences
  • Defend civil liberties and due process
  • End political prosecutions and investigations
  • Overturn Citizens United
  • Ban corporate spending in elections
  • Stop super PACs and dark money
  • Public campaign financing
  • Increase disclosure of campaign financing sources

A Fair Shake for All

Across New Hampshire, families are doing the quiet math — groceries, childcare, healthcare, housing — and finding that hard work no longer guarantees stability. Washington has written the rules for corporations and the well-connected, while ordinary people are left behind.

A Fair Shake For All is my plan to rebuild the middle class and restore the promise that if you work hard, you can build a secure life. It tackles rising costs, stagnant wages, a broken housing market, and a federal government that too often serves donors instead of voters.

Meet Christian Urrutia

Christian Urrutia is an Army National Guard officer and public defender for our soldiers, an experienced human rights and international law attorney, who has taken on courtroom battles and won, a senior national security leader, and advocate for responsible technology policies that address anti-discrimination, human rights, and privacy. He lives in Moultonborough with his wife Jenn, a small business owner, and their dog Winston.

He’s running for Congress because too often our government talks about fairness — but falls short when it comes to courageously fighting for working people. That needs to change.

Raised in New Hampshire

Christian is the son of immigrants and the first in his family born in the United States. He grew up in Hudson, where he pushed carts at Market Basket and graduated from Alvirne High School in 2002. His mother worked at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester as an ICU nurse for over 20 years and his father is a devoted community leader.

Fighting for Justice

  • Christian earned a scholarship to the University of Iowa, where he spent his college breaks substitute teaching and knocking on doors in opposition to the Iraq War. His commitment to justice led him to the University of Michigan, where he earned both a law degree and a master’s in international relations.
  • Christian began his legal career in the Hillsborough County Attorney’s Office. He then went on to devote his work to taking on foreign governments that violated international law, and led efforts to hold war criminals accountable.
  • One of his most impactful cases was representing the family of Victor Jara, a Chilean professor and political activist who was tortured and murdered for opposing a dictatorship. Christian was one of the lead lawyers that reopened the decades-old case, tracked down the perpetrator in the U.S., and won a verdict before a federal jury.

The Guardian called this case “one of the biggest and most significant legal human rights victories against a foreign war criminal in a U.S. courtroom.”

The Nation called it a “historic milestone.”

  • Christian went on to serve on the board of Bridges: Domestic & Sexual Violence Support, a nonprofit in southern New Hampshire that helps survivors of abuse rebuild their lives.

Answering the Call to Serve

  • Driven by a deep sense of duty, in 2019 Christian left private practice to enlist in the military.
  • Rather than accepting a direct commission as an officer, he opted to enter as an enlisted soldier, attend Army boot camp, and attend Officer Candidate School.
  • After receiving his commission as an officer, he became a military defense attorney in the Army National Guard, fighting for those who fight for us by ensuring soldiers in New Hampshire receive fair treatment, due process, and strong legal advocacy.

Solving Our Toughest Challenges

  • Christian was appointed by President Biden to the Senior Executive Service, serving as Special Counsel at the Pentagon. There, he worked on some of the nation’s most complex national security challenges—including support for Ukraine in its fight for freedom. Today, he leads technology policy work at Airbnb.
